Arriving In Abu Dhabi, Jokowi And Iriana Were Welcomed By Defense Minister Prabowo

JAKARTA - After visiting Ukraine and Russia, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) left for Saudi Arabia. The presidential entourage arrived Friday July 1, at 02:15 local time.

Upon arrival at Abu Dhabi International Airport, Jokowi and First Lady Iriana were greeted by Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto and UAE Minister of Energy and Infrastructure Suhail Mohammed Al Mazroei.

Citing the Presidential Secretariat website, Jokowi is scheduled to hold a bilateral meeting with the President of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

Jokowi will first start his agenda in Abu Dhabi by meeting businessmen and investors from the UAE. Furthermore, Jokowi and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan are scheduled for Friday prayers in congregation before the two hold a bilateral meeting.

President Jokowi's visit to the UAE aims to discuss economic cooperation and investment, as part of a working overseas visit after visiting Ukraine and Russia.

It is planned that Jokowi and the presidential entourage will depart for the country from the UAE this afternoon.
