Prosecutors Detain Former Regent Of Indragiri Hilir Riau Corruption Suspect
INDRAGIRI HILIR - The Indragiri Hilir District Prosecutor's Office, Riau, has arrested former Indragiri Hilir Regent Indra Muchlis Adnan, a suspect in the alleged corruption of capital investment in BUMD PT Gemilang Citra Mandiri (GCM) in 2004-2006.
The head of the Indragiri Hilir District Attorney's Office, Rini Triningsih, said Muchlis Adnan was arrested after giving information on the summons for questioning as a suspect. Thus, the two suspects in the corruption case have been arrested.
"The suspect will be detained for the next 20 days along with one other suspect, namely Zainul Ikhwan who will be examined separately," Rini said, quoted by Antara, Friday, July 1.
Rini said that before being arrested, the suspect, Indra Muchlis Adnan, had gone through various health checks and the results were all normal.
“After their health examination, all of them were healthy, the antigen swab was declared negative. So there is no longer any reason not to be detained," said Rini.
He said the suspect answered the summons for questioning as a suspect on Thursday at around 10.00 WIB. Furthermore, at around 18.00 WIB, the suspect began to be detained for the next 20 days from June 30 to July 19, 2022 at the Class II A Tembilahan Prison.
Previously, the Inhil Kejari (Indragiri Hilir) had named former Regent Indra Muchlis Adnan and PT Gemilang Citra Mandiri Director Zainul Ikhwan as suspects for corruption in investing in Inhil Regency BUMD in 2004-2006.
The Inhil Regency Government in 2004-2006 invested Rp4.2 billion in capital to PT GCM. The money was sourced from the Revised Regional Budget for Inhil Regency in 2004.
It is suspected that there was an unlawful act by the suspect Indra Muchlis Adnan together with the suspect Zainul Ikhwan related to the establishment of PT GCM and the use of the money was deemed to have violated applicable regulations resulting in a state loss of Rp1,168,725,695.
