Entong Fat Street Residents Protest Anies Change Of Street Name: Time's Out Just For Documents
JAKARTA - The wave of public protests against the policy of DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan by changing street names at 22 points in Jakarta has again drawn criticism.
Residents of Jalan Budaya who were affected by the change of the name of the road to Jalan Entong Gendut in East Jakarta, openly objected to it by placing a large banner on the side of the road.
Based on observations, the residents put up the banner at around 13.25 WIB. The blue banner was installed on the wall of the house of a resident of Jalan Entong Gendut, which is located next to the name change file change service from the DKI Provincial Government.
"We Residents of Jalan Budaya Strictly Reject the Change of Street Names!!!!!" listed on the banner.
The banner was installed by residents shortly after the East Jakarta Dukcapil service car parked in the minimarket yard, to open a document processing service related to changing street names.
Edward, a resident who put up the rejection banner, said the banner was a sign that the residents refused to change the name of Jalan Budaya to Jalan Entong Gendut.
"I still refuse (change the name of the street), if possible keep Jalan Budaya," he said to reporters at the location, Thursday, June 30.
He said that if the change in street name made him have to spend time and money to take care of changing the address on his personal documents.
"The reason is, the only cost is to change STNK KTP, Land Certificate, that's when our time is up, the time is just taking care of the letters, besides the Cultural Road has been used for a long time," said Edward.
Edward, who is registered as a resident of RT 10/06, Batu Ampar Village, Kramat Jati District, admitted that he had lived on Jalan Budaya since 1981.
He was also surprised by the change in the name of Jalan Budaya to Jalan Entong Gendut because the name change was carried out without prior socialization.
"It's just a direct name change, there's no deliberation," he said.
As is known, there are five street names in the East Jakarta area that have changed to names of figures to freedom fighters.
Besides the names of Mpok Nori and Haji Bokir, there are also Haji Darip, Entong Fat, and Rama Ratu Jaya who are also used as street names.
Jalan Haji Darip starts from the starting point of Jalan Bekasi Timur Raya to the intersection of Jalan Jenderal Ahmad Yani.
Jalan Entong Gendut, set from the starting point of the intersection of Jalan Batu Ampar I to the end point of the intersection of Jalan Raya Condet.
Meanwhile, the name Rama Ratu Jaya replaces the name of Jalan BKT on the west side from the starting point of the intersection of Jalan Milling to Jalan Raya Damai.
