Jokowi Moves To Poland To Continue Peace Trip To Moscow
JAKARTA - A super busy schedule is ahead of President Jokowi in the last few days. Now Jokowi is traveling by train to Poland to immediately rush to Russia.
"Returned by train to the city of Przemysl, Poland, to continue the peace tour to Moscow, Russia," Jokowi wrote on his Twitter account, Thursday, June 30.
Departing by using the Extraordinary Train (KLB) from Kyiv Central Station at exactly 19.00 local time, the President and his entourage headed for Przemysl Glowny Station in the city of Przemysl, Poland and are scheduled to arrive tomorrow.
From Przemysl Glowny Station, the President and his entourage will go directly to Rzeszow-Jasionka International Airport, Poland and then continue their tour to Moscow, Russia.
In a joint press statement with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky, at the Maryinsky Palace, Kyiv, Ukraine, Wednesday, June 29, Jokowi said that his visit to Ukraine was a tangible form of the Indonesian people's concern for Ukraine.
"I conveyed to President Zelensky that I made this visit as a manifestation of Indonesia's concern for the situation in Ukraine," said the President.
President Jokowi emphasized Indonesia's position regarding the importance of respect for sovereignty and territorial integrity. Although it is still very difficult to achieve, President Jokowi also conveyed the importance of a peaceful settlement and said that the spirit of peace must never fade.
"In this regard, I offer to carry a message from President Zelensky to President Putin, which I will visit soon," he added.
Furthermore, President Jokowi also expressed his concern for the impact of war on humanity. With existing capabilities, the people and government of Indonesia are trying to contribute assistance including medicine and commitment to the reconstruction of hospitals around Kyiv.
