JAKARTA - The Ministry of Agriculture (Kementan) said that there were five provinces with the highest number of cases of Mouth and Nail Disease (FMD) namely East Java, West Nusa Tenggara, Aceh, West Java, and Central Java.
"Based on data as of June 28, the number of provinces infected with PMK was 19 provinces and 221 regencies/cities with the highest number being in five provinces," said Director of Breeding and Livestock Production of the Ministry of Agriculture, Agung Suganda in the FMB9 discussion which was followed from Jakarta online. , Between, Wednesday, June 29.
Agung detailed that East Java had the most cases of FMD, namely 114,921 sacrificial animals, 43,282 NTB, Aceh 31,923, West Java 30,456, and Central Java 30,386.
Meanwhile, the Ministry of Agriculture reported that 283,606 sacrificial animals were confirmed to have FMD in Indonesia, 91,555 have recovered, 2,689 had to be slaughtered with conditions, and 1,701 died.
"Meanwhile, 186,661 have not recovered and 315 thousand have been vaccinated," he said.
The sacrificial animals that were most affected by FMD were cows with a total of 278,937 heads, buffaloes 4,669 heads, goats 1,253 heads, and sheep 958 heads.
Meanwhile, Minister of Agriculture Syahrul Yasin Limpo said that the addition of the oral and nail disease (PMK) vaccine that attacks livestock in a number of areas will be carried out in stages.
"The addition of vaccines is of course gradual. Because buying PMK vaccines can't be arbitrary, there must be indicators," said the Minister of Agriculture.
He said that currently the Ministry of Agriculture has 3 million doses of PMK vaccine and 800,000 doses have been distributed to regions.
"The addition of vaccines will continue to be in progress. Now there are 3 million doses of PMK vaccine, ahead of the feast of sacrifice 800,000 doses have been distributed, of course this will also continue to grow," he said.
