High Waves In The Bali Strait, Vehicles In Boats Overturn

JEMBRANA - Video footage of a number of vehicles overturning inside the ship due to high waves in the Bali Strait.

"The information is that it happened yesterday afternoon. I have not yet reported the incident to me, I only saw the video," said the Coordinator of the Implementation Unit (Korsatpel) of the Gilimanuk Port Land Transportation Management Agency (BPTD), I Nyoman Sastrawan, Tuesday, June 28.

According to him, in the near future there will be extreme weather such as high waves in the Bali Strait.

"According to our experience in Gilimanuk, the months of June, July, August are indeed a bit extreme. Usually the end of September starts to subside," he added.

His party always coordinates with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) regarding weather conditions.

"In anticipation, we will coordinate with BMKG regarding whether it is navigable or not. We may also urge ships to tie up the vehicles on board," he said.

"If there is already a warning and the wind speed is more than 29 knots, that's information from Ketapang, usually they often provide information and there is a closure (of the port)," he said.
