PKB Calls Anies-Ganjar Duet No Achievements, NasDem: It's OK, We Still Have Many Smiles
JAKARTA - NasDem Party DPP chairman Willy Aditya said his party respected PKB's view that the Anies Baswedan-Ganjar Pranowo duo did not have a track record and achievements.
According to him, this is reasonable because not all political parties accept the proposal of the Anies-Ganjar nation-unifying duo as proposed by NasDem General Chair Surya Paloh.
"That's the PKB's view, of course we have different preferences, we respect each other. That's NasDem's choice, of course NasDem is ready to take all the risks," Willy told reporters, Monday, June 27.
"NasDem has candidates, namely Mr. Anies, Mr. Andika, and Mr. Ganjar, of course all three must be promoted equally to all parties. All political choices have risks, there are those who accept and those who refuse, it is a natural thing in our lives, " he continued.
In fact, Willy said, NasDem also doesn't question if PKB doubts all the candidates promoted by NasDem to the point that they say there are no achievements.
"It's okay, we still have a lot of smiles," said Willy.
However, Willy added, NasDem has not officially decided which presidential and vice-presidential candidates will be promoted. Even though there are administrators who have communicated with the three candidates individually regarding their candidacy.
"We have not narrowed down the issue of who and who, we are still in the process of understanding each other, when will the communication be? If we have narrowed our new coalition - we will discuss who is up front, who will accompany us," explained Willy.
"We follow Pak Jokowi's language: Ojo with milk, please!," he said.
Previously, Deputy Chairperson of the PKB, Jazilul Fawaid, assessed that Anies and Ganjar did not have the capacity to unite the nation in the upcoming 2024 General Election.
"If the two names are thrown out to the public, I believe it is not a solution to find a unifying duo. Neither Anies nor Ganjar have the capacity for that," Jazilul told reporters, Sunday, June 26.
Because, said Jazilul, neither Anies nor Ganjar had the experience and achievements to create harmony and even unite a nation that had been polarized so far.
"Because both of them (Ganjar-Anies) do not yet have strong achievements and track records in activities of harmony and national unity," said the man who is familiarly called Gus Jazil.
Therefore, according to the Deputy Chair of the MPR, this unifying duo of the nation is not a good solution to avoid an election without polarization. Because, if the national unifying duet scheme was mentioned at the outset, it would actually make the political elite unable to sit together.
"But now that his figure is shown, it becomes the axis that puts pressure on the other party," concluded Gus Jazil.
