Dozens Of Artists Crowded Painting Figures Of Police Members At Borobudur Temple

MAGELANG - Dozens of artists in Magelang took part in the art and photography festival entitled Art Of Culture Police Day 76th in the tourist area of Borobudur Temple.

Magelang Deputy Chief of Police Kompol Aron Sebastian, Sunday, June 26, said this activity was a form of synergy between the Police and the artists in the Borobudur Temple area in commemoration of Bhayangkara's 76th Anniversary.

"This festival is to give appreciation and invite artists to contribute to the commemoration of the 76th anniversary of Bhayangkara," said Commissioner Aron in a written statement received Monday, June 27.

The Borobudur Temple area was chosen as the Festival event because Borobudur is a super priority tourist destination.

"We from the Magelang Police support the community in the Borobudur area, where in this area there are many artists, as well as tourism communities who want to channel their creativity at this Bhayangkara Anniversary," he explained.

Kompol Aron also invites the public, artists, and culturalists to channel their creativity that has been suppressed for two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Let's invite the artists together to do what can be done at Borobudur, one of which is artistic and cultural," said Aron.

Meanwhile, Umar Chusaini, one of the Borobudur artists, appreciated this activity. Where artists and the police can synergize in one activity. Even in a pandemic, the community, artists, and tourism actors are still enthusiastic.

"Hopefully artists all over Indonesia can be involved in something like this," he said.

Umar said, as many as 10 artists were involved. They will paint some police figures and other objects.

"The paintings we make include figures in the Police, namely Hoegeng, there is a policewoman who is painted, and Borobudur as the center of world art. Then body painting painting of a police figure. And this can be entertainment and color, that Borobudur is not only beautiful, but also colorful - colorful with all the arts and culture," he concluded.
