Besides Floods, Landslides Hit Cilacap, 67-Year-Old Grandmother Becomes A Victim Buried In The Ground
CILACAP - The Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Cilacap Regency, Central Java, conducted an assessment of the floods and landslides that occurred in a number of villages due to heavy rains on Sunday, June 26, afternoon, until the evening.
"Based on our temporary data collection, floods occurred in nine villages, while landslides occurred in two villages," said Head of BPBD Cilacap Regency, Wijonardi in Cilacap, quoted from Antara, Monday 27 June.
In this case, he said, floods occurred in Citepus and Prapagan villages (Orangelegi District), Cisuru, Cipari, and Ciserang (Cipari) villages, Tinggarjaya, Sidareja and Gunungreja (Sidareja) villages, and Cikedondong villages (Bantarsari).
Meanwhile, landslides occurred in Binangun Hamlet RT 02 RW 03, Tayem Village, Karangpucung District, and Cikondang Hamlets RT 01 RW 01 and RT 02 RW 01, Panimbang Village, Cimanggu District.
"Especially for the flood disaster, we are still conducting further data collection," he said.
Regarding the landslide disaster in Karangpucung Sub-district, Wijonardi said that the incident resulted in the environmental road being covered with avalanche material of 15 meters long and 3 meters thick, making it impossible for two-wheeled or four-wheeled vehicles to pass.
The landslide threatened four houses of Dusun Binangun RT 02 RW 03, Tayem Village, Karangpucung District, namely the houses belonging to Khaerudin, Karsono, Suhnanto, and Arsono.
According to him, the landslide in Cikondang Hamlet RT 01 RW 01, Panimbang Village, Cimanggu District, caused damage to the kitchen part of Jaidin's house because it was hit by a landslide from a 30 meter high cliff.
Meanwhile, in Cikondang Hamlet RT 02 RW 01, landslide material hit the back of Ruswanto's house and damaged it.
"In fact, Mrs. Watinem (67) suffered minor injuries in the form of bruises on her legs, thighs and cheeks because she was buried by a landslide as high as the victim's chest," he said.
Regarding the potential for heavy rain, he appealed to the public to remain alert and alert to the possibility of a hydrometeorological disaster.
"Emergency alert status is always activated during the hydrometrological period, whether there will be a partial emergency determination per regional or communal event. We need to study quickly, the Rapid Response Team has been down since the beginning of the incident, and until now we continue to collect data," said Wijonardi.
