PMPP Operation And Maintenance Of Alutsista Become The Target Of General Andika Perkasa Strengthen Military Partnership With UAE
JAKARTA - TNI Commander General Andika Perkasa said his party would strengthen the military partnership between Indonesia and the United Arab Emirates (UAE), particularly in relation to the operation of the Indonesian National Army Peacekeeping Mission Center (PMPP) and the maintenance of defense equipment.
"I am very serious because the UAE is a country that has a lot of potential in the region and in the world. Now the UAE is no longer a regional player, but a world player. That's why I am very serious and will realize this partnership," Andika said, quoted from General TNI Andika's YouTube channel. Mighty in Jakarta, Antara, Sunday, June 26.
One of the efforts to strengthen the military partnership between Indonesia and the UAE is to hold a meeting with the United Arab Emirates (UAE) Defense Attache Colonel Obaid Ahmed Saif Saeed.
Through the meeting, Andika discussed agreements and cooperation between countries, particularly regarding the operation of PMPP and the maintenance of defense equipment. Alutsista is the main tool of the TNI's weapon system.
If Indonesia and the UAE cannot make a concrete manifestation of the partnership between the two countries in 2022, he said, this partnership agenda will become an important agenda in 2023.
"Since the G2G (government to government) relationship at the President level is very close with the UAE, the response is also very positive and there is a lot of progress in various types of partnerships between the government of Indonesia and the UAE. So, I would be very happy to bridge the military partnership, also make it reality," said Andika.
During the meeting, Obaid also revealed that his party was trying to fix a number of aspects of the agreement before discussing it further with the Indonesian side.
"We have just reworked some aspects of the deal. We hope this will be completed soon," said Obaid.
