Palestinian Teen Shot Dead By Israeli Soldiers

JAKARTA - Israeli soldiers shot and killed a Palestinian in the occupied West Bank.

According to the Israeli military, reported by Antara from Reuters, Saturday, June 25, the resident was among a group of people who refused to stop throwing stones at motorists on a road.

Palestinian officials confirmed that a 16-year-old child had died.

The Israeli military said some of the suspects threw stones "which endangered civilians" who were driving on a highway near the city of Ramallah.

"Soldiers at the scene acted to stop the suspect according to standard operating procedures, using live ammunition as a last resort", the military said, adding.

The mayor of Silwad, a small Palestinian town near the scene, said residents were planning a mass strike "to condemn the crime".
