When Ganjar Accidentally Meets AHY After The PDIP National Working Meeting

JAKARTA - Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo and Chairman of the Democratic Party Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY) met at the Nurul Hidayah Mosque in Brawijaya, South Jakarta during Friday prayers. They both said that the meeting was unplanned.

In a video that is 20 seconds long and spreads out, Ganjar and AHY seem to meet during the Friday prayer.

The PDI-P cadre was seen wearing a white shirt and a black cap. Meanwhile, AHY was seen wearing a black shirt with a light brown pattern.

During that moment, AHY asked Ganjar about the PDI-P II National Working Meeting (Rakernas) (PDIP) which was held on 21-23 June 2022.

"Yesterday, the National Working Meeting went smoothly," said AHY.

Ganjar answered that question by saying that the PDIP National Working Meeting was running smoothly. Ganjar also mentioned that during the agenda he was staying at the PDIP Party School, Lenteng Agung, South Jakarta.

"Yes, thank God, thank God, let's camp first," replied Ganjar.

Not only capturing the Ganjar-AHY meeting, the video also shows the presence of the 2004-2009 and 2014-2019 Vice President Jusuf Kalla (JK). At the same mosque, he was seen greeting residents who had just finished Friday prayers.

Compact calls the meeting only Friday prayers, nothing more

The video that was circulated was then responded to by Ganjar. The former member of the Indonesian House of Representatives said he did pray at the mosque near his house.

"(Meeting AHY, ed) at the mosque near the house," said Ganjar when contacted by VOI via text message, Friday, June 24.

Ganjar did not explain further about his conversation with AHY. The same thing was conveyed by AHY.

After meeting Prabowo in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, the son of President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono said he was only worshiping at the mosque and accidentally met Ganjar.

"On Friday," said AHY briefly, laughing to reporters in Kertanegara, South Jakarta, Friday, June 24.

The Democrat Party also responded to the meeting. Head of the Strategic Communications Agency for the Democratic Party of DPP Herzaky Mahendra Putra said that the two figures did not accidentally meet at the mosque.

"Just on Friday together. At the Nurul Hidayah Mosque in Brawijaya, South Jakarta," Herzaky said when confirmed by reporters, Friday, June 24. "Good people meet in good places," he added.

Denies meeting JK at the same mosque

When contacted, Ganjar also said that he did not know that JK also visited the same mosque as the video circulating.

"Oh yeah (there is a JK in the same mosque, ed)? I didn't even know," he said.

So is AHY. He only answered briefly when asked if he had met JK.

"No (meeting JK, ed)," answered AHY, shaking his head.

It is known that Ganjar and a number of governors supported by PDIP participated in the National Working Meeting for three days. At the closing, Ganjar was even lined up to read out one of the recommendations from the National Working Meeting regarding the 2024 Presidential Election.

One of the recommendation points he read was related to the nomination of president and vice president where the appointment was the prerogative of PDIP General Chair Megawati Soekarnoputri.
