Viral 7-year-old Boy Scavenging And Not Going To School, This Is What The Banjarsari Police Did

SURAKARTA - A scavenger boy who had gone viral on social media finally received assistance with food packages and stationery from the Banjarsari Police, Friday, June 24. The assistance was given to keep him enthusiastic about learning at a very young age.

A boy named Muhammad Risky Saputra (7) who recently became the attention of netizens, is known to live with his mother, Ani Sri Andani (38) in Kampung Cinderejo Lor RT 001/RW 005 Gilingan, Banjarsari.

Risky is not alone, he still has his older brother, Bagas Pamungkas (10) and his younger brother, Azka Aprilio (4). The four of them live in a house that is far from proper.

Ani Sri Andani, Rizky's mother, turns out to be a single parent. Apart from being a mother, she must also be able to be a father to her children. This is because Ani's husband, Risky's father, died a year ago and was buried in Gunung Kidul.

Risky's activities of scavenging trash have gone viral on social media. The video is being scavenged in cyberspace. Thus, it moved the Banjarsari Police Chief, AKP Pardjono, to do something to him.

As a member of the National Police who protects the public, Pardjono finally helped Risky with food packages and stationery.

"Seeing this, I, as the Banjarsari Police Chief along with members, provided food packages and stationery assistance to Risky and his family," said AKP Pardjono, in a written statement, Friday, June 24.

"This assistance is an initial form of concern for the Banjarsari Police Sector for others in need," added Pardjono.

After receiving assistance, Risky and his family thanked the Police, especially the Banjarsari Police. He hopes that this assistance can be useful for himself and his family.

"Thanks to the police for the help," said Risky.

Risky said he was happy with the assistance of basic necessities and stationery he received. AKP Pardjono said he would seek support from Muspika and the Solo City government for Risky's school fees. Pardjono said, currently Risky is preparing to register for school in the coming school year.

"He is the second child, while his older brother has already entered school. We are trying to help him go to school and we will help ease the burden on his parents," said Parjono.

"It has been agreed with fellow members that we will joint venture to provide financial assistance for Risky and his family. For continuity, we will coordinate with the Head of District and Surakarta City Government.

"Hopefully there is the best solution. However, a 7-year-old child at Risky's age should go to school and not scavenge," he concluded.
