PLN And Himbara Provide Convenience For People To Own Electric Vehicles
JAKARTA - PT PLN (Persero) together with the Association of State Banks (Himbara) agreed to provide convenience for the public to have electric vehicles and the development of Public Electric Vehicle Charging Stations (SPKLU) in the country.
This agreement is contained in a memorandum of understanding signed by the Directors of PLN together with the Directors of PT Bank Rakyat Indonesia Tbk (Persero) (BRI), PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk (Persero) (BNI), PT Bank Mandiri Tbk (Persero) (Mandiri) and PT Bank Mandiri. Tabungan Negara Tbk (Persero) (BTN) during the Energy Transition Working Group (ETWG) 2 forum in Labuan Bajo, 24 June.
Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM), Arifin Tasrif, who was represented by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Ego Syahrial, explained that to be able to achieve the Net Zero Emission target in 2060, all parties needed collaboration.
One program that needs to be supported is to build an ecosystem for Battery-Based Electric Motorized Vehicles (KLBB).
"ESDM fully supports the cooperation carried out by PLN and Himbara to increase public access to reach this KBLBB. This is our joint effort to increase clean energy, reduce carbon emissions and at the same time save foreign exchange and reduce oil imports," said Ego to reporters. , Friday, June 24.
President Director of PLN, Darmawan Prasodjo, said that one of the joint efforts to reduce carbon emissions was by massive electric vehicles. However, to be able to achieve this cannot be done alone, it is necessary to collaborate with one of them with Himbara which is one of the accesses to cheap financing for the community.
"This collaboration is very important for all of us to be able to create a better environment for future generations. We really appreciate Himbara's active steps in increasing electric vehicles in Indonesia," said Darmawan.
Not only electric vehicle ownership loans, PLN is currently opening up opportunities for private sector collaboration to make SPKLU more active. For this reason, PLN cooperates with Himbara in order to provide credit to the private sector who wish to cooperate with PLN in the construction of the SPKLU.
"To make it easier for customers to make transactions for charging electric vehicles at SPKLU, in collaboration with Himbara, the payment method will be integrated with banks that are members of Himbara," said Darmawan.
To make it easier for electric vehicle users, PLN is aggressively building SPKLU in the country. Until May 2022, PLN has built 129 units of SPKLU consisting of SPKLU Fast Charging and Ultra Fast Charging spread over 98 points.
"The target is that by the end of the year we have budgeted to add another 40 SPKLU units to make it easier for people to charge their electric vehicles," said Darmawan.
BNI's President Director, Royke Rumilaar said, BNI helped develop KBLBB through bundling of banking products.
"The banking product in question is to provide a special scheme for financing the ownership of Electric Motorized Vehicles, financing the provision of SPKLU, as well as providing SPKLU in the BNI area and in several other locations," said Royke.
Bank Mandiri Director of Corporate Banking Susana Indah Kris Indriati emphasized Bank Mandiri's commitment to supporting the development of EBT in Indonesia.
This has been demonstrated by Bank Mandiri as the first non-PLN Group BUMN to place an SPKLU installation within the company's head office.
"The existence of this SPKLU is part of the company's series of initiatives in establishing a complementary EBT ecosystem, where Bank Mandiri also has several electric vehicles as operational vehicles," said Susana.
Susana added, Bank Mandiri also supports the development of EBT in Indonesia and finances electric cars through its subsidiary, Mandiri Tunas Finance.
"Other support is also seen through the distribution of financing for a number of development projects such as financing for micro hydro power plants and marketing of EBT products such as electric cars, solar panels to induction cookers," concluded Susana.
