PMK Outbreak, Target Of 2022 Eid Al-Adha Sacrificial Animal Arrival In Bogor Lowered

BOGOR - The Bogor City Government lowered the target for the arrival of sacrificial cattle, goats and sheep ahead of Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijriah from 12,000 heads to 5,000-8,000 heads. Head of the Bogor City Food and Agriculture Security Service (DKPP), Anas Rasmana said, the decrease in the target for livestock for sacrificial purposes along with the mouth and foot disease (FMD) outbreak which made shipping restrictions and sales transactions decreased. "This year 5,000 to 8,000 heads are the highest. Those who buy are also rich in decline even though FMD has been declared not to attack humans and the number (cows and goats) affected few and have been handled in Bogor City," said Anas in Bogor City, West Java, quoted from Antara, Friday, June 24. Anas said that under normal circumstances the demand for live cattle for the purposes of Eid al-Adha sacrificed for 1443 Hijriah could reach 17,000 to 20,000 heads. while closing access to and in and out of split-hoofed livestock including cows, goats and sheep due to FMD spread to 77 cows and 12 goats. The livestock affected by FMD were scattered in the Bubulak abattoir (RPH) and fattening sites in the community.

The closure of access in and out of split-hoofed livestock from other areas to Bogor City will last until June 29, 2022. The delivery of cows, goats and sheep for sacrificial purposes will be pursued by the Bogor City Government afterwards until the day of Eid al-Adha 1443 Hijriah on July 9 2022.According to the latest data reported, said Anas, until about two weeks before Eid al-Adha, around 1,800 cows have come to Bogor out of the target of 5,000-8,000 heads. Likewise, about 1,500 goats have just arrived from the same achievement target. "There is still time, hopefully it will be achieved," he said.
