MXGP Samota Circuit Sterilization 2022, NTB Police Deploy Tracking Dogs
SUMBAWA - The West Nusa Tenggara Police (NTB Police) involved a sniffer dog to secure the Samota 2022 Motocross Grand Prix (MXGP) event on Sumbawa Island.
The Head of Public Relations of the NTB Police, Senior Commissioner of Police Artanto, said that his party has deployed a sniffer dog, which is under the control of the Animal Unit K-9 Ditsamapta of the NTB Police, to help sterilize the circuit.
"This step is part of prevention efforts to ensure that the circuit location is clean from the threat of security disturbances," said Artanto in Sumbawa, NTB, quoted from Antara, Friday, June 24.
The threat, he explained, was about prohibited items such as explosives and narcotics.
"So we have started this sterilization activity since this morning," he said.
Artanto ensured that security from sniffer dogs was also carried out in mobile patrols. His party has divided the tasks and roles in these prevention efforts.
"There are 'standby' at the entrance and there is also a patrol," he said.
In an effort to prevent security disturbances, he continued, the police also gave warnings about parking vehicles to people in the circuit area.
"Because this is the first day, it's important for us to help arrange the right parking area," he said.
In conveying the appeal, the officers also conveyed the issue of vigilance against acts of theft and thuggery.
This extreme race on Sumbawa Island takes place in an area of 18 hectares with a circuit length of 1,800 meters. In the event which will take place from 24-26 June 2022, several stages of activities will be carried out, starting from "Free-Practice", qualification, MX2, and MXGP.
In security activities, the Police as security controllers have deployed more than a thousand joint personnel consisting of the TNI, Polri, BNN, and government agencies, such as the transportation service and the Satpol-PP, as well as a team of security volunteers.
