There Is A Mega Project In Kaltara, Governor Zainal Paliwang Tightens Oversight Of Foreigners: Everything Must Be Recorded And Organized

JAKARTA - The existence of a mega project in North Kalimantan (Kaltara), namely the Industrial Estate and the Kayan River Hydroelectric Power Plant, will attract foreign workers (TKA). For this reason, the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of Kaltara also supervises foreign nationals (WNA).

Governor of North Kalimantan Drs. H. Zainal Arifin Paliwang SH, M. Hum said that the supervision of foreigners must be strict. Especially foreign workers. Even required to be recorded and recorded.

Therefore, the Governor asked the Manpower and Transmigration Office (Disnakertrans) of North Kalimantan Province to immediately take an inventory of the number of foreign workers working in Kaltara. This is intended so that the number of foreign workers can be recorded properly. Both in terms of their documents, and their activities.

"My emphasis is, the supervision of foreigners is really strict. Do not let foreigners working in North Kalimantan not be recorded or recorded," said the Governor in his statement, Friday, June 24.

He also requested that districts and cities also monitor and supervise foreign workers in their regions. According to him, in addition to strict supervision, the existence of two mega projects also has the opportunity to increase Regional Original Income (PAD).

The governor also revealed that the Permit to Employ Foreign Workers (IMTA) was a new opportunity in increasing PAD. In the rules, IMTA is given by the governor or regent/mayor or an appointed official to the employer of foreign workers in accordance with the provisions of the legislation.

"What is certain is that it will be recorded first. And we make sure everything is recorded. So that supervision and if there is an opportunity for PAD, in terms of collecting taxes or levies for foreign workers can be followed up," he explained.

Previously, Head of Tax Division, Regional Revenue Agency (Bapenda) Kaltara Sugiatsyah said, withdrawing IMTA or foreign workers taxes could be done, because the company employs foreign workers.

The obligatory for levies or taxes, in the regulations, is a person, individual or entity which, according to the laws and regulations, is required to pay taxes, levies or include collections including withholding levies. "It can be included in Non-Tax State Revenue (PNBP). The rules are like that," he explained.
