Initially Acquaintances On Social Media, Chinese Citizens Are Desperate To Rape Women In Apartments, Checked By Police, Even Absent

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya is investigating a case of alleged rape with the alleged perpetrator being a foreign citizen (WNA) from China with the initials K. In a series of investigations, he did not act cooperatively.

"Regarding a Chinese citizen who reported being raped, it is true that he was summoned twice and did not attend," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes E. Zulpan to reporters, Wednesday, June 22.

The handling of this case is based on a report from a woman with the initials K last April. Even then the report is LP/B/1695/IV/2022/SPKT/IV/POLDA METRO JAYA.

In the report, K said that the reported party had been raped in an apartment in West Jakarta in July 2020.

The rape began when the victim was looking for food. Then, he was invited by the alleged perpetrator whom he knew from social media to come to his apartment. There, the Chinese foreigner raped the victim.

In fact, the victim wanted to report the incident to the West Jakarta Metro Police. However, the intention was canceled due to threats from the perpetrators.

Zulpan continued, with the absence of the alleged perpetrator twice for no reason at the time of the summons for examination, a case will be held. This will determine whether or not the case will go to the investigation stage.

"Due to being absent twice, the mechanism will be carried out with a case title to raise the status of the investigation to an investigation," said Zulpan.
