BWF's Latest Ranking: Pramudya/Jeremiah's Position Reaches Top 15, Fajar/Rian Slumps

JAKARTA - The Badminton World Federation (BWF) has released the latest rankings after the Indonesia Open 2022 tournament. From the men's doubles sector, Indonesia has received good news, but there is also something less pleasant.

Good news came from the junior pair, Pramudya Kusumawardana/Yeremia Rambitan. They managed to break through to the top 15 in the men's doubles BWF rankings, namely 14th. Previously, they were in 16th position.

This ranking increase is not surprising if you look at the slick performance of this young Indonesian couple in several tournaments. Pramudya/Yeremia now pocketed 64,197 points after appearing in the Indonesia Open 2022 tournament, even though they only reached the quarter-finals.

But unfortunately, this positive trend is certain to stop temporarily. The reason is, Yeremia had to be absent for quite a long time, about 3-6 months, due to a knee injury he suffered while appearing at the Indonesia Open 2022.

As a result, Pramudya/Yeremia have to miss two tournaments which will be held in Malaysia next week.

Meanwhile, their seniors, Fajar Alfian/Muhammad Rian Ardianto, actually experienced a decline. Fajar/Rian, who were previously in sixth place, have now dropped to seventh position by pocketing 83,705 points.

The position of Fajar / Rian was shifted by representatives of China, Liu Yu Chen / Ou Xuan Yi who were 223 points ahead.

While the first place in the men's doubles sector is still held by Marcus Fernaldi Gideon / Kevin Sanjaya Sukamuljo with a score of 111,827 points.

Meanwhile, the senior pair Mohammad Ahsan/Hendra Setiawan are still in third place in the BWF ranking with 104,195.
