South Sulawesi Governor Andi Sudirman Disburses IDR 7 Billion Financial Aid To Overcome Floods In Bantaeng
MAKASSAR - The Bantaeng Regency Government received financial assistance worth IDR 7 billion from the South Sulawesi Provincial Government in 2022 to deal with floods.
"Today we handed over financial assistance to the Bantaeng Regency Government worth IDR 7 billion for flood prevention", said the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman at the handing over of aid to the Bantaeng Regent Ilham Azikin, reported by Antara, Monday, June 20.
The budget is allocated for the construction of Cekdam Kasiping (barrier embankment) for flood prevention and supply of raw water.
This sub-regional financial assistance to the Bantaeng Regency Government has increased compared to 2021 which was only IDR 5 billion.
"This is by our visit during last year's flood. This is a form of our concern for flood prevention", he said.
He hopes that this financial assistance can be realized by the Bantaeng Regency Government. In overcoming the problem of flooding that often occurs in Bantaeng.
"We hope that the rehabilitation of this Cekdam will optimize it in dealing with flooding and also as a raw water supply", he said.
Bantaeng Regent Ilham Azikin said the benefits of the 2021 financial assistance for the handling of the Jalan Kayu Loe – Lannying IV section have been felt by the community.
"The previous year, the benefits were felt, the support was really enjoyed by the community", he said.
According to him, this year's allocation of financial assistance is part of the proposal and verification of a field visit from the Governor of South Sulawesi Andi Sudirman Sulaiman in the flood incident last year.
Ilham Azikin did not forget to express his appreciation and gratitude to the South Sulawesi Provincial Government for re-allocating financial assistance.
“Respect and thank you, this year Bantaeng again received support like the previous year. Based on the policy of the South Sulawesi Provincial Government, we will focus on improving basic public services in Bantaeng", he said.
