Coordinating Minister Airlangga: Germany Interested In Investment In Infrastructure And Energy Sector
JAKARTA - Coordinating Minister for the Economy Airlangga Hartarto said that Germany was interested in investing in several sectors in Indonesia, including the infrastructure, digital and energy sectors.
"They are companies in the digital field, databases, then infrastructure companies. Then also companies related to financial inclusion and energy futures. They are also interested in green hydrogen, and those who have been working with the Indonesian Chamber of Commerce and Industry regarding vocational, where this vocational needs to be continued ," said Coordinating Minister Airlangga, quoted from Antara, Thursday, June 16.
According to Airlangga, cooperation in the vocational sector between the two countries needs to be continued, because it is important to improve the expertise of Indonesia's human resources.
On this occasion, Airlangga and Minister of Industry Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita also welcomed the visit of the German President, Frank-Walter Steinmeier, at the PIDI 4.0 Building.
According to Airlangga, the German President appreciated the development of PIDI 4.0 with various innovations in it. Thus, the cooperation between the two countries can be further enhanced in various sectors, including digital technology.
"Earlier, the German President saw and appreciated what Indonesia was doing. Of course, in the context of 70 years of Indonesia-Germany relations, we can encourage a lot. Especially, in the position of Germany which is leading the G7 and Indonesia as the G20 Presidency," said Airlangga.
Airlangga added, the German president also said that, with various challenges, including climate change, the COVID-19 pandemic, the conflict between Russia and Ukraine, and high commodity prices, Germany felt it was important to establish cooperation with Indonesia.
"This is because what is being resolved is a global issue, not only bilateral between Indonesia and Germany. Because this is also related to food security," said Airlangga.
