With 3,500 VA Electricity, Customers Can Use 10 Electronic Devices Simultaneously
JAKARTA - The government has decided to adjust the electricity tariff for household customers with a power of 3,500 volt amperes (VA) and above from Rp 1,444/kWh to Rp 1,699.7/kWh.
Then, how many electronic equipment can be powered with 3,500 VA power?
Apparently, customers with 3,500 VA power can turn on 10 types of electronics at the same time without going out.
PLN's Vice President of Corporate Communications, Gregorius Adi Trianto, explained that actually, with 3,500 VA power, the community can use it to its full potential.
He said a house with two air conditioners (AC), one refrigerator and two 42-inch televisions could be operated optimally without experiencing interference with the 3,500 VA power.
In addition to the television, air conditioner and refrigerator that are turned on together, at the same time this 3,500 VA electric power can also be used to turn on the water pump, nearly 10 house lights, washing machine, magic jar, microwave and water heater.
"This amount of power is indeed used for people with middle to upper economic levels and are already living with the current modern style. We at PLN will continue to ensure reliable supplies for customers," said Gregorius.
In order to maintain people's purchasing power, competitiveness of the industrial and business sectors, control inflation, and strengthen national economic stability, the tariff adjustment was only applied to well-off households, which amounted to 2.09 million customers or 2.5 percent of PLN's total 83 subscribers. 1 million.

Meanwhile, for household customers with power below 3,500 VA, business and industry, there is no change in tariffs.
Previously, PLN President Director Darmawan Prasodjo stated that this tariff adjustment was carried out in order to realize a fair electricity tariff in which compensation was given to people who were entitled to it, while people were able to pay electricity tariffs according to the economy.
"The application of compensation is returned to the government's philosophy of aid, which is aimed at poor families. This is not an increase in rates. This is an adjustment, in which the assistance or compensation must be received by families who are entitled to receive it," concluded Darmawan.
