Gathering Feedback From Surabaya Residents, Walkot Eri Cahyadi Wants To Develop Kalimas Tourism

SURABAYA - Mayor of Surabaya Eri Cahyadi gathers input from residents to develop water tourism destinations on the Kalimas River, City of Heroes, East Java, to make it more perfect.

"I have received a lot of input and God willing, it will complement it. I am optimistic that when Surabaya residents or anyone who travels to Surabaya utilizes Kalimas, they will feel happy, comfortable and happy," said Mayor Eri Cahyadi in Surabaya, Antara, Thursday, June 16. .

One of the people asked for input was the media crew. Mayor Eri invited dozens of media company leaders along with editors and representatives of press organizations in the City of Heroes to enjoy Kalimas Water Tour on Wednesday night.

While boarding the boat, dozens of media crew were invited to enjoy the exotic night in the city of Surabaya via the Kalimas River. The route starts from the Submarine Monument Pier (Monkasel) and stops at the Taman Prestasi Jetty Floating Market. Then, continue to enjoy live painting at Expression Park Pier and finish at Siola Pier.

Eri realized that building the city of Surabaya could not be done alone, but it would be perfect if all stakeholders, including the media crew, were involved. "It is with this strong synergy that makes Surabaya great," said Eri as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 16.

A number of inputs from the media crew were also accommodated by Mayor Eri when together they were exploring Kalimas Water Tourism. Some of the inputs include adding lighting, tourist spots, music and art performances to a floating market.

"Because it's a long river. So, we will add certain points later, including the Floating Market," said Eri.

Even though the tickets offered are Air Kalimas tourism objects, which are not expensive, Eri wants the tourists to be happy and happy. In fact, to pamper them, along the Kalimas River will be added with art spots and a floating market.

"Later, every tourist will be dismissed at certain points to enjoy and buy MSME products that we market on the Kalimas River," he said.

After being inaugurated on May 31, 2022, Eri stated that the interest of tourists who want to enjoy Kalimas Water Tourism continues to increase. In fact, on weekends, tickets sold online are sold out in an instant.

"So we will also add boats, because on Saturday and Sunday, our boats are no longer accommodating. The number of people queuing is extraordinary, the enthusiasm is high," he said.

Therefore, he said, in addition to planning to equip new tourist spots, Eri will also add more boat units. It is hoped that tourists who want to enjoy Kalimas Water Tour will not wait too long for the boat to arrive.

"Now there are 12 boats, God willing, we will add about five or seven. Because later there will include floating boats and SMEs selling there," he said.
