Nasir Djamil Says It Doesn't Matter To Have Pork Beef Rendang Or Stir Fry, But If You Bring In Aceh It's Character Killing
JAKARTA - Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives, Nasir Djamil, spoke about the existence of an Acehnese nasi uduk restaurant with pork in Pluit, Pejaringan, North Jakarta. According to Nasir, it was a character assassination.
"The impression is that the term kills the character of the area (Aceh). It must be understood that way. So you don't have to include the name of the area if you want to sell it," Nasir told VOI, Thursday, June 16.
The legislator from Aceh considered that this action discredited the City of Aceh. It was also deemed inappropriate to do so.
"So in my opinion, including the name of the area where the area is known as Veranda of Mecca, I don't think it should be like that," said Nasir.
He actually doesn't mind the place of business that sells pork. However, you have to look at the situation and conditions around it.
"So it's a bit of a dilemma, I mean this because pork can be made into anything. For example, it can be made into rendang or stir-fried or various things. But of course pay attention to the situation and where he is. If there are many Muslims he must respect. halal like pork, for Muslims," he continued.
Therefore, he asked the Food and Drug Supervisory Agency (BPOM) and related agencies to monitor stalls and hotels to prevent similar incidents from happening.
"So there is a food and drug supervisory agency in cooperation with the relevant agencies. If a criminal element is found, it will be a legal process. But we are trying to develop that person first," he concluded.
As previously reported, the Head of the Pejaringan Police, Kompol Ratna Quratul Aini, confirmed the existence of an Acehnese rice uduk restaurant with pork as a side dish. After his party checked the sales location, Kompol Ratna did mediation. As a result, the business owner agreed to delete the name of the Aceh area.
