German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier Will Come To Explore Indonesian Culture, Borobudur Temple Is Closed To Tourists
MAGELANG - Borobudur Temple in Magelang Regency is closed to public tourists during the scheduled visit of German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier to Borobudur on Friday, June 17.
Meanwhile, Deputy General Manager of the Borobudur & Manohara Unit, Pujo Suwarno, said that during the visit of the German President, the Borobudur Temple Tourism Park will be closed at 07.00-12.00 WIB for the general public.
"Borobudur will reopen to general tourists at 12.00 WIB," said Pujo who is also Marketing & Sales Vice President of PT Taman Wisata Candi Borobudur, Prambanan and Ratu Boko (TWC) as reported by Antara, Wednesday, June 15.
On the day of the visit of the German President, tourists can still visit Borobudur Temple at 12.00-16.30 WIB.
"Because this is a visit by a state guest, the procedure must be done, to respect him," he said.
Pujo said that the German President's entourage numbered around 35 people, but for details his party was still waiting for a list from the German Embassy.
"Because this is an RI 1 level visit, the group will go up to the temple, the simulation plan is like that," he said.
President of the Federal Republic of Germany Frank-Walter Steinmeier will pay a state visit to the Republic of Indonesia on 15-17 June 2022.
In Jakarta, President Steinmeier will be welcomed by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) at the Presidential Palace for political talks. In addition, he will also join meetings with experts on various topics covering Indonesia's efforts in the fields of environment, climate, and energy. The German president will then go to Yogyakarta, to explore Indonesia's cultural heritage.
