President Jokowi Hands Over 2021 SEA Games Bonus Worth Rp162.5 Billion
JAKARTA - President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) finally handed over an appreciation bonus to the 2021 SEA Games medal winners, Monday, June 13. The bonus handover procession was carried out at the Merdeka Palace, Jakarta.
On this occasion, the President symbolically handed over bonuses to a number of athlete representatives. The total bonus given to athletes and coaches reached Rp. 162.5 billion.
"This morning I am proud, I am happy that of the 499 athletes we sent to the 31st SEA Games in Vietnam, 408 athletes all received medals, both gold, silver and bronze. Again, out of 499 athletes, 408 won medals. That is, 82 percent The athletes we sent brought medals, returned to their homeland," said President Jokowi as quoted from the Cabinet Secretariat website.
"Today we will hand it over, we will give bonus awards to athletes, coaches, and assistant coaches. We give approximately Rp130.5 billion to athletes, then to coaches and assistant coaches Rp32 billion, a number that is not small. "
"Hopefully this will inspire and motivate other athletes so that later in any international event they can make the nation and country proud," he concluded.
The bonuses were symbolically handed over to Riau Ega Agatha (archery), Ilham (rowing), Ceyco Greorgia Zefanya (karate), Susanto Megaranto (chess), Dhita Juliana (beach volleyball), Azzahra Permatahani (swimming), Raudani Fitra (canoeing), and Gian Kurnadi (Esports).
As is known, the bonus for a single gold medal winner is Rp. 500 million. While the single silver winner gets IDR 300 million and the single bronze winner IDR 150 as well.
Meanwhile, double gold medalists get IDR 400 million, double silver IDR 240 million, double bronze IDR 120 million. The silver medalists in the team get a bonus of IDR 210 million, the bronze in the team 105 million.
