Lost At Sea Since June 10, Fisherman In Halmahera Found Dead
JAKARTA - The Ternate Search and Rescue (SAR) Office, North Maluku (Malut) found a fisherman named Ardianus Friday (63) dead in the waters of South Halmahera Regency.
Head of the Ternate SAR Office, Muhamad Arafah, said the victim was found at around 07.25 WIT by a team around 1.41 NM from the location where the victim's boat was found. The victim was then evacuated to Lata-lata Village to be handed over to the family.
At around 08.00 WIB, the victim's body was handed over to the family for burial.
Victim Ardianus Fridayi, a fisherman from Lata-Lata Village, reportedly had not returned when he went to sea on Friday 10 June.
Previously, it was known that the victim said goodbye to go to sea on June 10, 2022 at 10:00 WIT. The victim fished using a boat in Latalata Waters, but until the afternoon had not yet returned.
The community also conducted a search and only found the victim's hat in the waters of Tanjung Singotahu Latalata, the family reported it to the Ternate SAR Office.
At around 13.45 WIT, the Bacan SAR Alert Unit Rescue Team was deployed to Lata-lata Island using a Rescue Boat (RB 309) of the Ternate Basarnas to conduct a search operation for victims, said the Head of Operations and Alert Section of the Ternate Basarnas, Bram Madya.
