Luhut: The Cooking Oil Company I've Been Playing With

BADUNG - Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Menko Marves) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan emphasized that Crude Palm Oil (CPO) business actors must be registered in a digital technology system, namely the Bulk Cooking Oil Information System (Simirah).

"We need to emphasize that all CPO business actors and their derivatives must be registered in this simirah system. In the future, the government hopes that simirah will continue to be a super-app and overcome cooking oil managers from upstream to downstream," said Luhut during a Business Matching press conference in Jakarta. in the context of the Acceleration of Exports of CPO and Cooking Oil, in Kuta, Badung, Bali, Friday, June 10.

With the simirah program, the government hopes that the distribution line will run normally so that the price of bulk cooking oil can be stable at Rp. 14 thousand.

"Now there are many areas that continue to decline and indeed, the National Police Chief has just said that there is still a price of Rp. 16-17 thousand, but it is a little and now there is a lot of Rp. 14-15 thousand rupiah," he added.

According to Luhut, the various policies made by the government cannot please all parties. However, this is done to balance CPO and cooking oil according to the government's target.

"The various government policies that have been made today certainly cannot please all parties. We will continue to try, evaluate and perfect this policy so that it can run as well as possible," he said.

In addition, Luhut Pandjaitan again talked about audits for companies that do not support the simirah program.

"So we have pinpointed several companies that seem to be playing games and I have asked and signed the letter. I have given it to BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency) and BPKP has received it and they have started work in the near future, " he said.

"And we will audit. When there is a company whose goods are here, the office is abroad and he lives abroad. I think it's not fair either. We have to live with justice too," said Luhut.

President Jokowi, continued Luhut, warned that cooking oil prices would remain stable, including ensuring the welfare of oil palm farmers.

"I repeat, the president has repeatedly ordered us to look at the price. Don't let these people become victims of businessmen alone, it will cause instability," said Luhut.

"So it's very important, I conveyed to my business friends earlier, we will not harm entrepreneurs but entrepreneurs also don't want to profit themselves. That there must be someone who is harmed, there must be people who played before now cannot play anymore, " said Luhut.
