Secretary General: NasDem Didn't Form A Coalition Before There Was A Presidential Candidate
JAKARTA - Secretary General of the NasDem Party, Johnny G Plate, stated that his party will not form a coalition before a presidential candidate (candidate) will be carried in the 2024 presidential election.
According to him, the new coalition was formed by the General Chairperson of NasDem Surya Paloh after receiving the recommendation of a presidential candidate at the National Working Meeting (Rakernas) which will be held June 15-17.
"NasDem does not form a coalition before there is a presidential candidate," said Johnny G Plate at the DPR building, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 8.
From the results of the National Work Meeting, Johnny continued, there are about 3 to 4 names of presidential candidates that will be given to Surya Paloh. Next, a presidential candidate will be appointed.
"Later, the output from the National Working Meeting between 3 to 4 presidential candidates may be produced," he said.
According to Johnny, the presidential candidate who has been promoted will be discussed with the prospective NasDem coalition partners. Only then will a coalition axis be formed.
"So, we will discuss the prospective coalition partners after the National Working Meeting," said Johnny.
"Because the new meeting will be held on June 15-17, so there is no name yet," he added.
However, Johnny said his party is currently opening the door to a coalition with all political parties. Mainly, with political parties that have the same foundation, namely nationality, citizenship and the continuity of national development.
