JAKARTA - The National Police stated that they are still investigating the relationship between several people behind the Khilafatul Muslimin group. However, the group's top leader, Abdul Qadir Baraja, has been arrested.
"The Metro Jaya Police are backed up by the Criminal Investigation Department, and the Lampung Police are currently investigating several people," said Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police Inspector General Dedi Prasetyo to reporters, Tuesday, June 7.
That way, it is possible that other parties will be arrested related to the Khilafatul Muslimin group.
However, Dedi was reluctant to specify the parties who are being monitored. Just to emphasize, everything is still in the process of deepening.
"The possibility will increase for the suspect," he said.
One of the development processes carried out by collecting all evidence and instructions. So, from there, the parties involved will be known.
"Also all the evidence that is currently being collected by investigators, of course this will be developed, then it will be developed," said Dedi.
Abdul Qadir Baraja is the highest leader of the Khilafatul Muslimin group. This group became a concern because it had gone viral with the action of a motorbike convoy carrying posters in the Cawang area, East Jakarta on Sunday, May 29.
In fact, the contents of the poster are said to contain a narrative that expresses hatred for the legitimate government.
In addition, Abdul Qadir Baraja is also known to be a convict of terrorism cases. Because, he was involved with the terrorist group the Islamic State of Indonesia (NII).
