690 Houses Of Residents Of East OKU Regency, South Sumatra Receive House Renovation Assistance
MARTAPURA - A total of 690 units of Uninhabitable Houses (RTLH) in East Ogan Komering Ulu (OKU) Regency, South Sumatra received free house renovation assistance through the Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance Program (BSPS) from the central government.
"There are as many as 690 residential housing units spread across several sub-districts, including Belitang, Madang Raya, East Buay Madang, Madang Tribe I and East Semendawai sub-districts, which we will operate this year," said Head of the OKU East Housing and Settlement Area Service, Danan Rachamat here. Martapura was reported by Antara, Monday, June 6.
He said the BSPS program from the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing is to help the underprivileged to have a decent house to live in.
"In this program, the government provides assistance for the cost of buying building materials, including the wages of craftsmen," he said.
There are also criteria for the beneficiaries of the assistance, including having ownership rights to the land and the house they are currently occupied, which is indeed worthy of dissecting.
"The East OKU Regency Government is also working with the East OKU Baznas to carry out the Home Renovation Movement (GERABAH) activity which is carried out in every sub-district," he said.
Based on data, since 2020 it has been recorded that more than 10 thousand housing units for uninhabitable residents have been dissected so that the underprivileged people in the area currently have decent housing.
"The details in 2020 are 9,564 units, 708 units in 2021 and 690 units this year," he said.
