JAKARTA - Zendaya won the MTV Movie and TV Awards, Sunday, June 5, through the drama Euphoria and the superhero film Spider-Man: No Way Home, which were selected as the best series and film.

Quoted from AFP, the award, which is based on public online voting, confirms the popularity of the former Disney star. The 25-year-old actress won best performance in Euphoria which also took home the best fight award and the new best hookup category.

The MTV Awards have long awarded gold popcorn trophies for categories that range from "best kiss" to "scariest look."

When die-hard fans dedicate themselves to voting for their idol, these awards tend to follow trends and commercial hits that have a large and loyal social media following.

The award-winning Spider-Man: No Way Home also stars Zendaya and Tom Holland, who won the "best performance" award. But the two did not attend the event in Santa Monica in person.

Not only Zendaya who took home the award, there was Jennifer Lopez who won the best song category "On My Way (Marry Me)", while Olivia Rodrigo took home the best documentary music award "Olivia Rodrigo: driving home 2 u".

Meanwhile, Daniel Radcliffe, whose career has accelerated since starring in "Harry Potter" won the best villain award for the comedy film "The Lost City". Radcliffe jokes, his British accent makes acting as an antagonist easier.

"I have to thank my parents for making me British, so I was able to grow up naturally sounding like a bad person to win this award one day," he said.
