Manchester United Joins In Pursuit Of Christian Eriksen, Orders From Erik Ten Hag
JAKARTA - Manchester United is reportedly trying to bring in players from Denmark, Christian Eriksen. The player is on a free transfer after his contract with Brentford expired.
Manchester United's move cannot be separated from the belief of the new manager, Erik ten Hag. He believes, the 30-year-old player can still be relied on.
However, Manchester United have to compete with Everton and Tottenham Hotspur. The two English Premier League clubs are also interested in the former Inter Milan player.
The Red Devils are reportedly busy looking for players to fill the gaping hole in their midfield. The reason is the departure of Paul Pogba, Juan Mata and Jesse Lingard.
A number of players are now starting to be approached and persuaded to join. Besides Eriksen, there is the name of a Barcelona player, Frenkie de Jong.
Ten Hag wants to reunite with his former team at Ajax Amsterdam. However, this wish is rather difficult to materialize.
The reason, De Jong still wants to stay at Barcelona. He also did not want to leave the opportunity to play in the Champions League next season.
However, MU's plans are still quite open. Barcelona was faced with a difficult choice due to financial problems. The Spanish La Liga club could have been forced to release De Jong because they needed fresh funds to make their finances more stable.
