Confess Not To Know Idayati President Jokowi's Sister, Chief Justice Of The Constitutional Court: Everywhere He Drives Himself
JAKARTA - The chairman of the Constitutional Court (MK) Anwar Usman admitted that he did not know his future wife -whom he has now married -, Idayati is the younger brother of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi). Moreover, the introduction of the two was done briefly.
This was conveyed by Anwar when he was a speaker at a Public Lecture in Kupang, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Thursday, June 2 yesterday.
"So I didn't think that he was the younger brother of the president," said Usman, quoted from the Indonesian Constitutional Court's YouTube show, Friday, June 3.
In addition, Idayati also does not show herself as an important person. There was no special treatment shown by the woman he married on 26 May.
"Wherever he drives himself. Then if you eat at a restaurant, it's normal," he said.
"So the term, he is a true Pancasila and his religious observance is extraordinary," added Usman.
He denied that his marriage to Jokowi's sister was a political marriage. He said this happened for no other purpose.
"For example, there are those who accuse me of marrying him (Idayati) as a political marriage. I'm not a political party (political party), what am I looking for," he said.
Anwar added that his marriage to Idayati has nothing to do with the 2024 presidential election. Moreover, his brother-in-law can no longer be a presidential candidate because he has served as president for two terms.
Not only that, he also denied any parties linking his second marriage to the 2019 presidential election dispute. At that time, the Constitutional Court won the Jokowi-Ma'ruf Amin pair.
Anwar said he couldn't do that. Because he only met Idayati in October 2021 and his wife was still alive at that time.
"Do I know? And I don't know, for God's sake. We know October 2021, it has nothing to do (with the 2019 presidential election dispute), ed," he said.
Even so, Anwar understands the speculation that has arisen. This, he continued, was because his position was often the target of slander and insults.
"Well, don't be surprised. The judiciary world is full of slander, full of insults. The more insults, slander for me, the more reward, God willing, for me," said Anwar.
As previously reported, Anwar Usman married Jokowi's younger brother, Idayati, at Graha Saba Buana, Solo, Thursday, May 26. This marriage was highlighted by many parties because it was considered to have the potential to create a conflict of interest.
