In Order To Be Able To Repeat The Champions League Final, Mohamed Salah Wants To Exchange All Individual Awards

JAKARTA - Disappointment is still felt by Mohamed Salah after Liverpool failed to win the Champions League trophy for the 2021/2022 season. In order to make up for that failure, Salah wanted to exchange all his individual awards so he could repeat the final.

In the Champions League final which took place last May 29, the Reds went home sluggish because they failed to bring the Big Ear trophy to Anfield. They lost 0-1 to Real Madrid who scored through Vinicius Junior.

However, despite the failure of his team, Mohamed Salah was showered with a number of individual awards. The Egyptian player was selected as the PFA Fans' Player of the Year or the 2021/2022 Premier League Player of the Year voted by the fans.

Not only that, Salah was also asked to be the Men's Footballer of the Year for 2021/2022 from the Football Writers Association (FWA), aka the Journalist Version of the English League Best Player.

Despite failing to bring Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2021/2022, Salah is still listed as a fertile player. Together with Son Heung-min he topped the list of top scorers with 23 goals.

Unfortunately, all the awards that Salah has still cannot make him feel relieved because he failed in the Champions League final. Therefore, if possible, he would like to exchange his individual award for the opportunity to repeat the final against Real Madrid.

"Being recognized by fans and sports journalists in the same season is something special that I will never forget," Salah wrote on his social media account.

"But I would give all those individual awards for the chance to repeat that final, but that's not how football works."

Salah reiterated how much he wanted to present the Champions League trophy to all Liverpool supporters. But in reality, time cannot be repeated and Salah tries to accept the situation and remains grateful for the loyal support of the fans this season.

"I can't put into words how much we wanted to bring the trophy back to Liverpool, but in the end we couldn't," said Salah.

"I am very grateful to the fans for your support. It has been a very long season but this is part of me and must start the next season starting again tomorrow," said Mo Salah ending his upload.
