Two Landslide Victims Killed In Depok Have Been Warned, But Still Ignore
DEPOK - Two people are reported to have died and one person was injured due to a landslide in Saung Tiga, Sawangan, Depok.
Depok Metro Police Chief Imran Edwin Siregar said the incident occurred on Thursday, June 2, at around 15.30 WIB. Edwin added that the two victims were Siti Marwati (46) and Sudana (55).
"Two people died. Meanwhile, one injured person named Dede Safaat is 37 years old," said Imran when confirmed, Thursday, June 2.
Imran explained that the incident occurred when it was raining in Depok City. The heavy rain caused the ground to slide and hit the saung restaurant in Sawangan, Depok.
At the time of the incident, said Imran, the victim was eating in a hut which was located just below the landslide. The witness, Dedi, was actually reminding the victim that the natural disaster had occurred.
"But the victim did not heed the witness' advice." Imran explained.
Head of Operational Control of the Depok City Fire and Rescue Service, Welman Naipospos, said that his party received the report at 15.15 WIB. Then it was declared that the evacuation was finished at 18.48 WIB.
“Receive the news at 15.15. Controlled safe point 17.30. Back to the office at 6:48 p.m.," he concluded.
