This Formula E Racer Of Indonesian Descent Admits He Is Addicted To Eating Lemper
JAKARTA - One of the Formula E drivers who will compete at the Ancol circuit on June 4, Nyck De Vries shared his impression of being in Jakarta for the past few days.
While in Jakarta, Nyck has tried a number of foods. Unexpectedly, the driver who once won Formula E in the 2020-2021 season admitted that he was addicted to eating lemper.
"My favorite food is lemper. I've also tried the fried bananas and they taste really good," Nyck said at a meet and greet event for the organizers and Formula E drivers in the Monas area, Thursday, June 2.
Nyck is a Dutch national racer who is included in the Mercedes-EQ Formula E Team. Nyck also admitted that he was of Indonesian descent from his grandfather.
"It's true, I am of Indonesian descent from my grandfather. He used to live in Malang and decided to move to the Netherlands to avoid war," he said.
Nyck revealed that he was happy because he would finally experience racing in Jakarta. He had been waiting for this for a long time.
"To be honest I am very happy here. Finally this race can be realized after a long wait, I have seen the circuit design and I am sure I can go fast. The race will be very interesting and I want not to disappoint you all," he said.
Nyck admits that being of Indonesian descent becomes a bit of a burden. Because, Nyck admitted that he got a lot of hope from the Indonesian people to be able to win the Formula E race this time.
"To be honest, I am a bit burdened by the expectations of the people in Indonesia. But I will try my best to make you all proud. I hope to spend more time in Indonesia in the future," explained Nyck.
In today's meet and greet event, Nyck De Vries also performed a drifting attraction in the courtyard of the Monas area. Here, Anies plays the role of waving the signal flag before the Formula E car demonstration is carried out.
