NTT Resident Murder Case Revealed In Denpasar, Perpetrators Dispose Of Victims In Sewers To Confuse Traffic Accidents

DENPASAR - The Denpasar, Bali Police Team has revealed the murder of a man, Jape Rina (24) from Mude Padu, Laboya District, West Sumba, NTT. The body of the murder victim was found in a ditch on Jalan Pidada, Ubung, North Denpasar, Bali.

Three perpetrators were arrested in connection with this murder, namely Benjamin Haingu (23), Papi Langu Karengu Humba (19) and Minto Umbu Rada (21). One other person is still wanted by the police.

"The search for DL (Daud) or DPO is still in progress," said Denpasar Police Chief Adjunct Senior Commissioner Bambang Yugo Pamungkas, Thursday, June 2.

This murder case was initially reported as a traffic accident. However, after processing the crime scene (TKP) and autopsy, it was discovered that the body of the man in the gutter was a murder victim

The suspects deliberately engineered as if the victim died in a traffic accident by leaving the victim in a ditch and the victim's motorbike staying at the location.

"After examining the crime scene, we know that there are irregularities. These suspects, brought the victim to the crime scene and made it look like the victim was an accident so they wouldn't be identified," said AKBP Bambang.

Chronology, on Saturday, May 28 at midnight, the victim and the perpetrator came to the mess of one of his friends to attend a birthday party in Denpasar.

Before arriving at the location, the perpetrator and the victim both drank palm wine. But at the location of the birthday party, the victim suddenly became angry and hit the perpetrator Daud and kicked the perpetrator named Papi.

After being hit, the perpetrator Daud took a piece of wood and hit the victim twice on the jaw and back, causing the victim to fall. The perpetrator Papi also hit the victim using a wooden block in front of the warehouse once to the victim's head.

Then, the perpetrator Benjamin opened the gate and the victim went into the warehouse to take his motorbike and the victim was assisted by the perpetrator Benjamin starting his motorbike in front of the warehouse.

On the way, the perpetrator Benjamin chased the victim and grazed the motorcycle until the victim fell. After that, the perpetrator, Daud, took the bricks and beat the victim.

"(Daud) while threatening the three perpetrators if they don't hit the victim, they will be killed by the person concerned," he added.

Then, the victim was thrown into a ditch while placing the victim's motorbike near the victim's disposal site.

"The motives of the perpetrators were to feel irritated and hurt towards the victim after the commotion at the birthday party of his colleague's wife," he said.

From this incident, the police conducted an investigation and arrested the perpetrators in separate locations.

"They know each other and are friends. The one who had the idea for a traffic accident was the DPO. So at first the victim said harsh words to the suspects and then they committed the crime of murder. In essence, they were drunk, there was a dispute, so it was a problem like that, "said AKBP Bambang.

The perpetrator is suspected of Article 338 of the Criminal Code or Article 170 Paragraph (3) of the Criminal Code for a crime of murder or beating that results in the death of a person with a maximum imprisonment of 15 years.
