PKS Doesn't Want To Be Outside Government Anymore, Denny Siregar: His Pockets Are Dry, 10 Years Out Of Power
JAKARTA - Social media activist Denny Siregar responded to the desire of PKS, which claimed to be open to coalitions with other parties so that they could return to the government after the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).
According to Denny, PKS currently does not have abundant resources. Therefore, he continued, PKS wants to be the ruler who runs the wheels of government.
"The pockets have dried up. 10 years out of power, can't do anything," said Denny on his Twitter account, @Dennysiregar7, Tuesday, May 31.
Denny commented on the statement made by PKS Secretary General Habib Aboe Bakar Alhabsyi during the PKS 20th Anniversary at Istora Senayan, Jakarta, Sunday 29 May.
Aboe said his party no longer wants to be out of power or not in a seat of government after the 2024 election. PKS is also open to other parties who invite them to agree to form a coalition.
However, Aboe emphasized that the party bearing the rice and crescent symbol did not want to be restrained so that it could maneuver in political contestation.
"Anyone can invite PKS, welcome PKS, but it can't be locked. PKS is released freely. Anyone who wants to play is welcome. If you want to chase PKS, God willing, it's ready. But don't lock us. -20 MCC.
On that occasion, PKS was also invited to join the coalition. It was the General Chair of PAN Zulkifli Hasan (Zulhas) who invited PKS to join the United Indonesia Coalition which was formed on May 12 "We (PAN), Golkar, and PPP are trying to create a United Indonesia Coalition, yes. I mean, hopefully PKS can be together -same," said Zulhas in his remarks at the 20th Anniversary of PKS.
In the 20th Anniversary of the PKS, apart from Zulhas, a number of figures and politicians from different parties participated in the celebration.
Among them are the Governor of DKI Jakarta Anies Baswedan, the General Chairperson of the PKB Muhaimin Iskandar alias Cak Imin, the Vice President of the Democratic Party Edhie Baskoro Yudhoyono alias Ibas.
