JAKARTA - The Regent of Karawang Cellica Nurrachadiana targets the construction of the Rengasdengklok traditional market to be completed this year so that traders from the old market can immediately occupied it.

The Regent conveyed that the new Rengasdengklok Market was built on an area of about five hectares. The building has an investment value of IDR 116 billion and will later be integrated with a public transportation terminal and loading and unloading vehicles.

Rengasdengklok Market Development was built by a third party, namely PT Visi Indonesia Mandiri. Then the traders will buy stalls and kiosks that are available in the market.

For merchant stalls, the price is Rp. 16.5 million and the price for the kiosk is Rp. 19 million. Purchases are made in installments. Around the market, he continued, the Karawang Regency Government will build a garden and culinary center as well as a children's play corner.

"This market itself consists of kiosks with various sizes and prices. So there are many choices for traders," he said.

He said the number of traders in the old Rengasdengklok Market was 1,600 traders. They are kiosk traders, stalls, and street vendors. Meanwhile, the number of traders at Rengasdengklok Market who have registered is around 966 traders from 1,162 kiosks and stalls provided.

The Regent conveyed that his party was committed to making it easier for traders at Rengasdengklok Market to have kiosk ownership.

"In terms of financing, we want the installments to be lighter and affordable with a long installment tenor. So that traders are really helped.

At the location of the old Rengasdengklok Market, the Karawang Regency Government plans to build a green open space, so that the land of the former market can be put to good use.
