Raffi Ahmad's Club Omitted The Word Cilegon, The Reason Was Quite Surprising
JAKARTA - Raffi Ahmad's club has officially changed its name to Rans Nusantara FC. There is no longer the name Cilegon.
The operational director of Rans Nusantara FC, Darius Sianthrya said, the name change was carried out in order to expand the base of supporters, including fans of Raffi Ahmad.
"The name, right, is Rans Nusantara. It means that we want to attract supporters from Indonesia, whether it's Raffi Ahmad fans, Cilegon and Indonesian football lovers. So the vision is there," said Darius, as reported by Antara, Tuesday, May 31.
However, Darius emphasized, the change in the club's name does not necessarily eliminate the traces of Cilegon and Banten Province in the team. Cilegon is said to be the root of the club that cannot be released.
He also emphasized that Rans Nusantara FC will continue to be Banten's representative in national football.
"We have always said that the roots of Rans Cilegon which has now changed to Rans Nusantara remain from Banten. The club will be a representative of Banten Province in the long term," said Darius.
Darius added, the thing that seems clear will be different due to the change of the club's name is the club logo. However, the changes will not be significant.
"The logo will still be purple but will change even though the changes are only slightly. The launch will wait for the pre-season to finish," said the official from Rans Nusantara FC.
