Wow, Sahroni Says Formula E Jakarta Is Sponsored By Local Entertainment Groups Of Up To IDR 100 Billion

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Jakarta EPrix 2022 Organizing Committee, Ahmad Sahroni, revealed that a local entertainment group spent money to organize an electric car race in Jakarta. The group sponsored the Jakarta Formula E event up to Rp100 billion.

This nominal has even covered more than half of the cost of organizing Formula E which reached Rp120 billion for the construction of the circuit, construction of spectator seats, paddock, and other facilities.

"There is an entertainment group that gave Rp. 100 billion. I will mention it. Anyway, there is one entertainment group in the country, I'll tell you the name later," said Sahroni when met at the Jakarta International Velodrome, East Jakarta, Thursday, May 26.

Sahroni still refuses to reveal who the entertainment group will sponsor the electric car race on June 4th. When asked if one of these groups might be RANS Entertainment, Sahroni denied it.

"No. What is RANS doing (as a sponsor)? Maybe a football sponsor, he (RANS)," said Sahroni.

Until now, the local sponsor of the Formula E event has not been disclosed by the organizers. However, the official website jakartaeprixofficial.com has featured a number of companies that are the main sponsors and global sponsors.

The name of the company that is included in the main sponsor is ABB from Switzerland which is engaged in automation technology, robotics, power, and heavy electrical equipment.

Furthermore, the Swiss financial company Julius Bar became the global sponsor of this event. Then, the technical sponsor is Michelin which is a French tire company.

In addition, there are several companies that are members of other sponsors. Among them are Copper, Hugo Boss, Bosch, DHL, Moet & Chandon, Enelxway, Allianz, Tagheur, Anfogasta Minerals, Saudia. Then, one of the other global sponsors of concern is Heineken which is a beer producer.
