Garbage Piles Up In Metland Cibitung, Bekasi Regency Government Deploys 36 Trucks
CIBUITUNG - A total of 36 trucks were deployed to solve the problem of garbage piling up at the Metland Cibitung complex, Telaga Murni Village, West Cikarang District, Bekasi Regency.
Acting (Pj) Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan said the Bekasi Regency Government's efforts to transport the waste were based on reports from residents.
"Residents complain that they are disturbed by the increasing volume of waste here, so we immediately respond," said Acting Bekasi Regent Dani Ramdan at the Metland Cibitung complex, quoted from Antara, Thursday, May 26.
Dani instructed the Environmental Service officers to transport waste from the garbage collection site at the Metland Cibitung complex to the Burangkeng Waste Processing Site in Setu District.
"Alhamdulillah, we have also gathered the head of the RW, the manager of Metland Cibitung, the Department of Environment, the sub-district head, and the village head to find a solution going forward," he said.
He asked the manager of the Metland Cibitung complex to relocate a temporary waste collection site and instruct the Environment Agency to transport waste from the complex while looking for a temporary waste storage location.
"Two trucks have to transport garbage from here a day," he said.
Head of the Cleanliness Division of the Bekasi Regency Environmental Service Khaerul Hamid said that on Thursday all garbage trucks could be operated to transport waste from the Metland Cibitung complex.
"Now, because it's a holiday, we send all trucks here, a total of 36 trucks, hopefully one truck can be transported twice," he said.
"If all of them can be transported today using 36 trucks, it means that the minimum total waste is 216 cubic meters," he said.
