PB IDI Strengthens Collaborative Commitment To Support Global Health Recovery

JAKARTA - Chairman of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Doctors Association (PB-IDI) Adib Khumaidi expressed his commitment to strengthen collaboration with various lines in supporting the restoration of world health.

"Representing PB-IDI, we convey our support to the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Indonesian Ministry of Health in the strategy to restore services and health systems globally," said Adib Khumaidi in a written statement quoted by Antara, Wednesday, May 25.

Adib made this statement while accompanying the Minister of Health Budi Gunadi Sadikin and related officials at the 75th World Health Assembly which took place at the Palais de Nations, Geneva, Switzerland.

"It is an honor for me to be invited to represent IDI as a professional member in an institutional way accompanying the Indonesian Minister of Health in the 75th World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland," he said.

Adib said IDI is always ready to be a strategic partner of the Indonesian government and the world in the advancement of health services in Indonesia, as well as assisting cooperation in creating a healthier world. All future priorities and focuses of WHO are in line with the direction and strategy of the PB-IDI program going forward.

The bilateral meeting also discussed strengthening health human resources including doctors through various trainings, strengthening primary services that support universal health coverage and exploring international cooperation with Indonesian doctors in the context of the transfer of knowledge and technology.

Adib realized that the right approach was needed in providing an understanding of promotive and preventive efforts through IDI's member doctors.

In addition, IDI will also use health technology to provide education and make it easier for the public to get education regarding promotive and preventive efforts.

The 75th World Health Assembly was held from 22-28 May 2022 with the theme Health for Peace, Peace for Health which focuses on strengthening preparedness and response to health emergencies.

The meeting became the momentum for an international meeting facilitated by the World Health Assembly as well as a series of activities for the ASEAN Health Ministers meeting in Nusa Dua Bali on 14-15 May 2022.
