Passing The Long Dynamics, Commission II Of The DPR Agrees That The Honors Of Election Officers In 2024 To Increase 3 Times

JAKARTA - Commission II of the DPR has agreed that the honorarium for Ad Hoc Agency officers in the 2024 General Election will be three times higher than the 2019 Election. This agreement was decided by the DPR in a consignment meeting with the government and election organizers the other day.

"For the Ad Hoc officers, because their work is quite heavy, we agreed to increase them three times as much as usual," said Deputy Chairman of Commission II of the DPR Syamsurizal, at the Parliament Complex, Jakarta, Monday, May 23.

Syamsurizal said that the increase in the salary of the Ad Hoc Agency officers had gone through a long debate. In particular, regarding the nominal amount that will be given.

"We agreed, we didn't mention the number. But it was 3 times the usual or previous election," he said.

According to the United Development Party (PPP) politician, the increase in salaries for Ad Hoc Agency officers is a natural thing. Moreover, said Syamsurizal, there was economic inflation which had an impact on the high prices of a number of goods.

"So it's natural, it's better to triple it. All factions agree," he concluded.

Previously, the KPU proposed an increase in the honorarium for Ad Hoc officers. This is because the workload in the previous election with the honorarium received was not balanced.

"In this period we also have to increase the salaries of our officers, ad hoc bodies, there are millions of our officers. Of our budget, 54 percent of it is for the honorarium of the organizers and it makes sense to increase it," said KPU chairman Ilham Saputra.

As is known, in the 2019 General Election, 894 Voting Organizers Group (KPPS) officers died and 5,175 others became sick due to a fairly large workload.
