Case Of Hoarding Tens Of Tons Of Cooking Oil In Palu, Operations Manager With The Initials AR Becomes A Suspect
PALU - Central Sulawesi Police have named one suspect in the case of hoarding cooking oil in Palu City. The perpetrator was arrested by the Food Task Force some time ago.
"In the case of the alleged hoarding of cooking oil, the developments that we can convey have now entered the investigation stage since March 21, 2022," explained Head of Public Relations of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police Kombes Didik Supranoto in Palu, Antara, Monday, May 23.
The suspect with the initials AR as Operations Manager CV. AJ. It is planned that this week investigators will immediately transfer the case file to the Public Prosecutor.
The suspect is suspected of Article 133 in conjunction with Article 53 of Law No. 18 of 2012 concerning food as amended in Article 1 number 15 of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 11 of 2020 concerning work creation and/or Article 107 in conjunction with Article 29 paragraph (1) of Law of the Republic of Indonesia Number 07 of 2014 concerning trade in conjunction with Presidential Regulation Number 71 of 2015 concerning the determination and storage of basic necessities and essential goods which can be threatened with imprisonment of 5 years and/or a maximum fine of Rp. 50 billion.
Previously, the Central Sulawesi Food Task Force (Satgas) sealed two warehouses in Palu City, Central Sulawesi. The two warehouses were found hoarding tens of tons of cooking oil.
"There are two locations in Palu City that have been sealed with police lines by the Food Task Force for allegedly hoarding cooking oil in a situation where the community is experiencing a shortage of cooking oil," said Didik.
The sealing began with an inspection carried out by the Central Sulawesi food task force on a number of warehouses in Palu City.
From these results, the Food Task Force led by Kombes Ilham Saparona, Dirreskrimsus Polda Central Sulawesi, together with the Head of Industry and Trade Office of Palu City succeeded in dismantling the alleged hoarding of cooking oil.
“The Central Sulawesi Regional Food Task Force is led by the Dirreskrimsus of the Central Sulawesi Regional Police, Kombes Pol. Ilham Saparona, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, found two warehouses that stored 4,209 boxes of Viola cooking oil or 53,869 liters," he explained.
The two locations are on Jalan I Gusti Ngurah Rai, Tavanjuka Village, Tatanga District, Palu City.
