Semarang Residents Allegedly Shot By Police Guns While Arranging Disputes

SEMARANG - A resident of Tambakrejo, North Semarang, with the initials S (48), is suspected to have been shot by a replica of an airgun belonging to a member of the Central Java Police Brigadier General RS.

The Head of Public Relations of the Central Java Police, Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy, in Semarang, Thursday, May 19, confirmed the shooting incident that occurred on the evening of Wednesday, May 18.

Kombes Iqbal Alqudusy explained that the incident began when the First Brigadier of RS was involved in a dispute with his relative, SY, at the location around Tambakrejo.

"This victim S is trying to intervene," he said.

However, he continued, suddenly the First Brigadier RS exploded his gun and hit the victim's leg. S. Iqbal said this case had been handled by the Propam Division of the Central Java Police.

"The suspect is currently undergoing examination at Propam," he said.

He said that the victim had received treatment at the hospital and his condition was improving.

The Head of Public Relations added that the Central Java Police apologized for the incident and was committed to resolving the case.
