Mahfud MD: LGBT Enters RKUHP, There Is A Criminal Threat
BADUNG - Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD emphasized that the prohibition on Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) has been included in the draft Criminal Code Bill (RKUHPP)
"It has been included in the RKUHP and the government already has an attitude. But at that time in 2017, the government and the DPR were demonstrated by an NGO asking that LGBT not be banned, then it was delayed until now. If the government is clear, it has conveyed it," said Mahfud MD here. Nusa Dua, Badung, Bali, Wednesday, 18 May.
The RKUHP regulates the prohibition of LGBT and criminal threats for violators.
"In the RUKHP it is criminalized, in the RKUHP it has been stated that LGBT is in certain ways and certain exposure is prohibited and there is a criminal threat. That's right, but at that time it was noisy. Yes, it was noisy, yes it was postponed," he added.
"If I (agreed) from the beginning, yes, the formulation is correct. If you still don't agree, wait when people agree in Indonesia. Then just ratify it, then later if you don't (agree) then just go to the MK and be judged by the MK, right? there is already a procedure," said Mahfud.
