JAKARTA - The Indonesian badminton team has made changes to the line-up that will play against Thailand in the 2021 SEA Games women's team final in Hanoi on Wednesday, 18 May 2022.
In the women's singles, there is no Gregoria Mariska Tunjung, who previously played in the first match against Vietnam. In that match, the national best women's singles lost in a three-set match against the host's representative Thuy Linh Nguyen.
Luckily Indonesia rose after that to overthrow Vietnam, 3-1.
In the final match against Thailand, the coaching team decided to rotate Putri Kusuma Wardani (Putri KW) for the first match. Women also previously contributed one point when they became the second women's singles in the match against Vietnam.
Meanwhile, Stephenie Widjaja, who was included in the squad for the match against Vietnam, but did not play, will play in the second women's singles against the Land of War Elephants. As for the women's singles, the three coaching teams included the name of Saifi Rizka Nurhidayah.
Putri KW is set to face Pornpawee Chochuwong, while Stephanie will meet Supanida Katethong. Meanwhile, Saifi will duel with Pitchamon Opatniputh if he plays the last match.
Then in the women's doubles the coach team did not make any changes. The two doubles that had previously succeeded in giving points for Indonesia against Vietnam were again revealed in the final.
The two pairs, namely Apriyani Rahayu/Siti Fadia Silva Ramadhanti and Febby Valencia Dwijayanti Gani/Ribka Sugiarto.
Apriyani/Fadia will meet with women's doubles Jongkolphan Kititharakul/Rawinda Prajongjai, while Febby/Ribka will meet Benyapa Aimsaard/Nuntakarn Aimsaard.
