Police Arrest Perpetrators Of Dating Friends Murder In Kediri
KEDIRI - The Kediri Resort Police (Polres), East Java has arrested the perpetrator of the murder of a woman who was also his date, because he wanted to get back the money that had been given.
"The suspect became acquainted with the victim through social media, on May 6, 2022 and after the introduction, the victim offered to go on a date together. After the conversation, the suspect and the victim agreed to meet at a hotel in Kediri," said the Head of the Kediri Police Investigation and Criminal Unit. He said that after the meeting, it turned out that suspect MW (21), a resident of Gudo Village/Sub-district, Jombang Regency, still had a desire. The person concerned then contacted the victim with the initials IY (33), and the two met again at a hotel in the Kediri Regency area.
The two met again on Friday (13/5) night. The perpetrator arrived at around 21.00 WIB and met the victim. After the meeting, the victim claimed to be tired and the perpetrator offered to massage the victim's body.
"During the massage, the perpetrator had the opportunity to commit murder to the victim on the basis of economic motives. Because there was a tariff agreement that was deemed large, the suspect wanted to regain control of the predetermined fee," he said.
The suspect used the knife he had brought with him. He planned to leave his workplace with a wrapped knife. In addition to carrying a knife, the perpetrator also intentionally closed the license plate number of his motorbike when he arrived at the inn.
The perpetrator also had time to take a shower, clean his body from the victim's blood and leave the victim alone.
The victim's valuables, he said, were also taken by the perpetrator and thrown into the Konto River.
The police who received the report of the murder also went to the location and carried out the crime scene (TKP). The perpetrator was arrested at his workplace in Jombang, and the victim's valuables that had been thrown away by the perpetrator have also been recovered.
Currently, the perpetrator is still being held at the Kediri Police Headquarters. Evidence such as gold jewelry, motorcycles, and a number of other items are still being secured at the Kediri Police Headquarters.
For his actions, the perpetrators are threatened with Article 340 of the Criminal Code with the threat of death or life imprisonment or temporary imprisonment for 20 years and Article 365 of the Criminal Code with a maximum threat of 15 years.
"This criminal sanction is imposed because the perpetrator is suspected of committing a crime of premeditated murder and theft that was preceded by violence or threats of violence against people," he said.
